Japanese authorities interpret the new policy of individual tourist visa:
The Ministry of foreign affairs of Japan has recently officially decided to expand the scope of individual tourist visa applications for Chinese citizens to Japan from July 1 this year. After the implementation of the new policy, Chinese tourists with stable work and annual income of about 60000 can apply for personal travel visa.
The chief representative of the Beijing Office of the Japanese government's Tourism Bureau, Takashi Takahashi, yesterday gave a detailed interpretation of the new policy to the media. Cypress said that this policy was formulated on the basis of summing up the experience of the pilot project and has been expanded in the following three aspects.
First of all, it expands the scope of acceptance region. From the current Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou to Chongqing, Shenyang, Dalian and other cities with Japanese consulates.
Secondly, the scope of sending agent is expanded. From 48 travel agencies in Beijing, Shanghai and other cities to 290 travel agencies in China, it brings great convenience for individual tourists to apply nearby.
Later, it is also more important to expand the scope of applicants. After the implementation of the new policy, people with certain credit ability can apply for personal travel visa for themselves and their third degree relatives, or for second-class relatives who travel alone. A certain credit ability here refers to the ability to have a stable job and hold an international credit card or equivalent. It is understood that the gold card application conditions of several famous international credit card companies are about 5000 yuan per month. Therefore, the number of people who can apply for personal travel visa to Japan has expanded to a large range.

Since July 2009, the Japanese government began to issue individual tourist visa to Chinese tourists. However, the "annual income should not be less than 250000 yuan" and the cumbersome application procedures have become the barriers for many Chinese tourists to travel to Japan freely. Baimulongjiu said that in the process of formulating the policy, how to simplify procedures is one of the key concerns of Japanese provinces and departments. "Chinese tourists are welcome to make full use of this new system and enjoy the unrestrained non daily experience unique to Japanese individual tours," said cypress.
Since 2000, the number of Chinese tourists to Japan has steadily increased, and in 2008, it has exceeded the million mark. According to the survey of Japan's official tourism agencies, only mainland Chinese tourists have increased significantly in the past two years.
